Halloween party tonight!

We're doin' it up, family style tonight! Come to the Plant residence at 955 S. Delaware Avenue dressed in your Halloween best (if you feel like it) and bring a bag of candy or a snack. We're going to pass out candy to trick-or-treaters!

Also included in the festivities:
Screenings of Young Frankenstein or other Halloween movies
Fresh Halloween cake, carefully baked and prepared by me
Candycandycandycandy!
Other various appetizers (cheese, crackers, chips, maybe some dip?)
Good times!

The party starts between 6pm and 7pm (I get home at 7pm from class).
If you're reading this, then you're invited. simple.

Directions: Travelling east toward Glenstone Ave. on Grand Street, turn left on Delaware (just past Weller). We are the second house on the left.

And, as always, Robert Plant himself will be there!

Grass-roots movement!

Robert Plant is growing up so quickly! He has almost grown 75% his original size, and is sprouting new vegetation in the nether-regions. I hope it's not genital warts, but in fact the sprouting of a new limb. Robert Plant loves the ladies...and their diseases.

I gave Robert his own personal blogger profile on here, so that he can give you the inside scoop on plant life. So far, however, he hasn't been able to press hard enough on the keys to make a post, so alas I must continue my slanderous writings.

Here are some of Robert's new favorite things:
Arrested Development Season 2
Ace Ventura 1 and 2
my new chord organ jam sessions
the neighbor dog
pretending to be a scary pumpkin

Jessica cleverly made Robert Plant a halloween costume. I still don't have developed pictures, but here's a quick drawing of what you can expect this halloween!

Does your plant wear a costume? Didn't think so.

Marooned!

So there I was, well on my way to Chicago this Thursday, and I look over to my passenger seat and notice something amiss: I had forgotten Robert Plant!!! The mascot of the trip, Robert H. Plant, was stranded on the living room coffee table all weekend, while I had the best time ever with my wonderful friends! How selfish and forgetful of me. Needless to say, when I returned home, Robert was very angry. He wouldn't speak to me directly, but would only mumble something about "you'll be climbing the stairway to heaven soon, mister" or maybe he said "You'll see miming and hairspray from seven to noon." I couldn't really decipher it. Robert's girlfriend was probably upset, too. Julie will have to fill you in on that side of the story.

This is the worst plant-friend in the history of friends signing off.

From your front porch to my front seat...

Okay, so that's not a Robert Plant/Led Zeppelin lyric, but it's very pertinent to upcoming events. Robert said to me yesterday,
"Well I got this guitar
And I learned how to make it talk
And my car's out back
If you're ready to take that long walk
From your front porch to my front seat
The door's open but the ride it ain't free
And I know you're lonely
For words that I ain't spoken
But tonight we'll be free
All the promises'll be broken!"

(Springsteen)

That's right, ladies. Look out, because Robert Plant and NC will soon be flying down Thunder Road on our way to Chicago! We've been busily preparing for the trip, which means watching TV and screenprinting new NC shirts! Robert hasn't been to the big city, and he's got a certain lovely spider plant waiting for him at Julie's house. She's much older than Robert, but he's into older chicks. I hope she's not a guy, though, because Robert hasn't said whether he's also into older dudes.

In other news, please welcome Ms. Jessica Schneider and Mr. William Andree' to the Robert Plant Blog! They are now official contributors, and will be forming a sort of checks and balances system for the blog, so that I do not mis-represent Robert Plant. After all, he's got a reputation to uphold.

Coming soon: Robert Plant t-shirts!

Fizzy Lifting Drinks

We decided that Robert Plant was a little too uptight last night and gave him a swig of club soda/carbonated water. What a mistake! He stayed up all night singing "Itsy Bitsy Spider," of all things. I should've known! I'm trying to decide whether I'll bring him to Chicago with me or not. What do you think? Don't worry, I'll drive.

Robert Plant is a Vegetable

Ever since we got a couch (today), Robert has been sitting in the living room. He hasn't left the house in weeks, and I'm beginning to suspect that he's suffering from separation anxiety. After all, now that he's seen the picture of Julie's plant, he has been stricken with love-sickness. Poor guy. Anyway, while the rest of us deal with our longing pains, Robert likes to wallow. He's a wallower.

Thanks to AJ for the couch. He is a true friend, and my gratitude cannot be expressed in words. Robert thanks you as well, AJ. He's been hogging the couch all day!

In an attempt to strengthen Robert's immunity to other evils of this world, we exposed him to sunflower seeds, m&m's, and now: Green Bell Pepper seeds! Maybe he'll grow a friend in there.

And before you could say "Bob's your uncle..."

Robert Plant has a new girlfriend. It is my distinct pleasure to introduce you to her:

Thanks to Julie of Nerdup.net for volunteering her plant for Project Robo-NADS (ROBert Needs A Date Soon).

Spinal Pap

Robert, Will, and I watched This is: Spinal Tap last night, and now all Robert talks about is "Our band is going to" this and "I can't wait until we tour" that and "All the girls are going to want our" yada yada. Don't tell him, but I doubt Robert Plant will ever make it in the world of rock n' roll. I tried to tell him that Led Zeppelin wouldn't fly, because there's already a band with a SIMILAR NAME.

A Seed in Need...

A thank-you the size of a Zepplin goes out to Will and Jessica for taking care of Robert Plant this weekend! Thank you guys. I came home late this evening to find that Robert had been properly watered, entertained, and sun-bathed. This act of pure benevolence will not go unnoticed. Will and Jessica know that a seed in need is a seed indeed.

Robert also has a new friend...a prehistoric friend, that is. I will have pictures soon, but this lil' guy has been hanging out with Robert since Thursday night, and I've heard nothing but wonderful things about him. Let's hope he's a carnivore, though. We don't need any malicious herbivores hanging around Robert now. Nothing but trouble!
